Wanderlust (n.) - a strong desire for or impulse to wander or travel and explore the world.

As it turns out, there is a scientific explanation why some people feel the urge to travel and move around all the time, haha.

There are some people who never feel the urge to leave their home. They are content growing up in the same place, going to college in the same town, sitting on the same couch and surrounding themselves with the same people.

On the other extreme side of the spectrum are the wanderlusters (oh, what a funny word) - or explorers, rebels, thrill-seekers, whatever you want to call them - who can't sit still and have a constant itch to explore. They have a thirst to see and experience as much of the world as possible. A thirst cannot be quenched no matter how many journeys or vacations they take. (The Genetic Reasons why... 2015)

People with the DRD4 genes tend to be thrill-seeking and migratory. These wanderlusters were the crucial movers who pushed human civilizations out of Mesopotamia, spanning societies into Europe, Aasia, Africa and America. (Ibid.)

The ones who have the desire to "explore new places, ideas, foods, relationships, drugs, or sexual opportunities; and generally embrace movement, change and adventure." (Ibid.)

The natural desire to explore is most intensely expressed especially in children, who aggressively form hypotheses in their minds and experiment. Can I place this block on another one without toppling over? Will I get the cookie if I cry or ask nicely? What happens if I hit the person who takes my toy, will they give my toy back or fight back? What if I hop over this fence I’m not suppose to; will I find new things to do? Such ruthlessly efficient hypothesis testing makes children also as natural adventurers. (Ibid.)

Well, here you go, this might be the answer to your question "what, why, where you are going again?!"

Aaand as you can see, this is my very first post in english. I will try to write all my next posts in both languages, estonian and english, as through the years I've got more and more non-estonian friends who might be interested in reading this. At first I want to apologise in advance for my grammar that might be a bit rusty as I haven't practiced it for a long time. I am also writing and not reading my text through, because if I'd read all my writings, it might look weird to me and I won't publish it, so you have to get along with my funny english 'writing accent'. And not to take the credit for the first part of this post, this is just an interesting article that I found suitable to get going my posts with again. The Genetic Reason Why Some People Are Born To Travel All Over The World

For now me and Triin already have bought the flight tickets to New York. Can not wait to finish my final thesis and get going again! Will be done with all kind of schools, universities etc for a looong time, want to feel freedom again and do whatever and go where ever my soul wants to.

At first, we are planning to go to NY on 24th of June then stay there for a couple of days (depends where will we find a place to stay at and for how long, is it going to be via couchsurfing or what ever) and then will fly to LA from where we will probably take a train or bus to San Diego, where we are going to stay until october or so. And definitely want to see some people in Santa Monica, that we met last year! OH can't wait.
We also have our SSNs and Work&Travel Visas, so everything is ready, just have to find a place to live at for three monthsin SD, probably in Pacific Beach area. Don't wanna be moving 15 times per summer again as last year lol.
Don't hold your breath but hopefully will keep updating my blog as if there will be smth new to write about. Will try to keep it interesting, I'll promise.

Thanks and until the next time! xx
